An INTRODUCTION to One Punch Campaign Australia's AMBASSADOR SCHOOL TEACHER AND PROFESSIONAL BOXER ... Mr JEFF HORN ..
Jeff Horn is no ordinary athlete.
In just 8 rounds of professional boxing, this incredible athlete became the Australian Professional Welterweight
Jeff was also awarded Prospect of the Year for his incredible
achievements during 2013, including his unanimous points win over the world class Naoufel Ben Rabeh, who
boasted a record of 37 wins from 40 fights before he took on Jeff in a ‘winner‐takes‐all’ bout in Perth in December 2013.
Jeff stunned the crowd, with only 6 professional fights under his belt, could come
to Rabeh’s hometown with just two weeks’ notice and score a unanimous decision against the world ranked Rabeh, who had won his previous 13 fights.
JEFF’S AMATEUR CAREER
As an amateur, in just 4 years, this likeable 25 year old Pallara school teacher rose to become Australia’s most successful Olympic boxer in 20 years, eventually losing to the silver medallist in the quarter finals at the 2012 London Olympics, narrowly missing out on a medal.
Along this epic journey, Jeff won; the Oceania Championships, Arafura Games, 3 consecutive Elite Men’s national titles, 4 state titles and Golden Gloves ‐ and after scoring a record 42:5 win in his first bout at the World Boxing Championships, eventually lost to the gold medallist.
Jeff’s trainer, Glenn Rushton, a veteran with around 40 years of experience in the fight game and a canny eye for talent, believes Jeff has the goods to go all the way.
I am a professional boxer that could handle myself quite well in the ring. However, I would always avoid a fight outside the ring. Fighting can and does change and end lives. People need to think before they act especially when they are out drinking. The most cowardly move to make towards someone is to hit them when they are not looking or unready. I completely disagree with this cowardly act of violence and totally support the One Punch Campaign. I do believe the involvement of boxing can be an important tool to educate people how to recognize and respect the dangers in fighting and stay away from it outside a controlled environment.

He's achieved all this, plus enjoying a fantastic amateur career before turning pro, whilst studying and then working full time up until and including now!
Jeff is also a fantastic role model for the youth of Australia, and a great example of what you can achieve if you put your mind and body in to something.
He will make a great ambassador for One Punch Campaign's Australia.
